About the Role

You will design and maintain backend systems emphasizing Rust, GraphQL, and Bitcoin technologies. You'll collaborate with backend and frontend teams to expand our open-source infrastructure while focusing on Bitcoin adoption globally.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services using Rust, Bitcoin (BDK), and GraphQL
  • Integrate and optimize Bitcoin functionality for reliability and performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and product managers
  • Implement best practices for testing, code review, and CI/CD
  • Mentor other engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture
  • Contribute to open-source development and community engagement

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional backend or full-stack software engineering experience
  • Deep Bitcoin knowledge and commitment to global adoption
  • Rust proficiency (or equivalent systems language background with willingness to learn)
  • GraphQL expertise and backend API design capability
  • Dedication to building secure, highly available, distributed software
  • Strong product thinking for financial applications
  • English fluency (spoken and written)
  • Remote work and async communication experience

Nice to Have

  • Bitcoin Development Kit (BDK) experience
  • TypeScript, React, React Native knowledge
  • Core banking or financial services platform background
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Startup adaptability and quick pivoting capability
